Role
—
Art Director, 3D lead, design & animation
Year — 2019
This project initially began as a really cool and exciting concept for a paper craft stop motion (live action) idea that sparked our creativity and enthusiasm. However, as we progressed, budget limitations unfortunately steered the ship toward a different route: computer-generated imagery (CG).
The agency chose a paper craft style as it uniquely blends storytelling with a distinctive charm and personality. To bring this vision to life, we focused on realizing it in CG (computer graphics). Collaborating closely with the Creative Director and Director, I translated the captivating paper craft universe into a three-dimensional format while also leading the animation process.
Our designs mirrored the methods of accomplished stop-motion artists, utilizing strings and sticks to further enrich authenticity. Our main goal was to preserve the unique stop-motion essence of the original idea. These elements ensured that the final outcome maintained its enchanting human quality and appeal.
